Fathers 4 Justice Canada - Feb.14,2010 - Valentines Day Action - Vancouver BC
The Olympic spirit in Vancouver is certainly alive and well. Today's action that saw Fathers 4 Justice Canada team members upon the
pedestrian overpass on the Stanley park road causeway was certainly an indication of the same. The morning for our official Vancouver's
Day action began at 8:00 am to attend to last minute preparations. By 10:00 am our party of 6 was assembled. This included Hal Legere as
Robin QC, Agent David Millar (Photography and walking billboard), Mr. Peter Ku (Photographer and Video work), Kevin Christiaens as the
BC Hulk, Murray Williams (Metropolis Superman) who acted as our chauffeur for the day and the Burnaby Batman Rob Robinson.
The plan consisted of our designated driver dropping 3 superheroes off at the pedestrian overpass along with film crew and to then
continue on over the Lions Gate bridge.
Meanwhile back at the overpass our dedicated superheroes busied themselves with the placement of their Canadian Flags and Fathers 4
Justice Canada banner. Once the signage was properly placed our superheroes climbed up onto the railings of the overpass and waved to
the traffic below. The response from the motorists was absolutely inspiring and we were received with nothing but cheers, honks and
support from every motorist we encountered. At certain points we had the traffic moving at a snails pace through Stanley Park because of
motorists eager to capture photographs of this unusual occurrence. Our heroes were able to remain upon the overpass for over an hour with
out any kind of confrontation with authorities at all. There were 2 separate occasions however when marked squad cars passed us down
below and merely waved at us as they drove by. After we had decided that it was time to depart and our faithful driver was in route to pick
us up,the authorities finally made it to the scene. Needless to say the police cruiser promptly flipped a u turn as he sounded his siren and put
on his pretty lights. After a short and rather harmless interlude with the authorities we were provided a police escort out of Stanley Park.
