Fathers 4 Justice Canada - May 18/09 - Victoria BC - Together F4J Canada team members from Vancouver and Victoria BC came together to
participate in one of western Canada's most popular parades, the Island Farms May Day Parade in Victoria BC. Monday May 18/09, 8:00 am -
F4J Canada team members were assembled at the Mayfair mall parking lot on Douglas street to participate in the parade. Fathers 4 Justice
Canada's float this year included a 30 foot trailer decked out with 30 foot Fathers 4 Justice Flags as the skirt, wooden structures for
superheroes to be on top of, and of course a mock family court with justice kangaroo presiding.
I would like to say it was a beautiful sunny day but that would be a fib. Under grey skies and light rain the parade began from the Mayfair mall and
winded its way through the downtown core of Victoria. There were over a hundred colourful floats and many marching bands. Nineteen of them
coming in from the USA to participate and be appreciated by over a hundred thousand people in attendance. On that note Fathers 4 Justice
Canada was once more very well received by the spectators with many cheering, clapping and shouting out our name. The children in the
audience of course loved seeing some of there favourite superheroes upon our float. These included, BC Hulk(Kevin Christiaens), Victoria
Spiderman (Stephen), Spider Woman, Wonder Woman (Katy), Judge Kangaroo (Anne), Green Lantern, Wolverine, Venom, Guitar Hero, and
the Burnaby Batman (me). We also had several everyday heroes upon our float as well. All in all the event was once more a success and a
great time was had by all who attended.
