A Personal History of Surviving an
Illegal Name Change Through
NIVA
I am sixteen years old and a Junior Justice Superhero from
Fathers 4 Justice Canada, who dreams of the day when I can
soar to great heights to bring a voice to the children.

I am writing to make the public aware of the Injustice that
has happened to six of our Superheroes from Fathers 4
Justice. They have been arrested for disturbing the peace,
conspiracy and other meaningless charges because they have
held peaceful protests like hanging a banner from a crane,
water tower and a two-story office building.

These Superhero’s court dates are now inching closer and
closer and we need to show our support to them for risking
their lives to bring awareness so that children may be able to
have both parents in their lives
For even just a moment, you need to put yourselves in our
shoes and realize the devastation this is causing us. We cannot
wait until we are adults to deal with our childhood losses. Our
Superheroes know that children need to stop being hurt.

Many of you grew up with the very Heroes that you now want
to prosecute.
You cheered for them on TV, you bought their 20-cent comics
at the corner store and asked for their Capes for Holidays
thinking you could fly too. You can fly now in the eyes of your
own children or grandchildren, by supporting these same
Heroes. How does it look to a little boy or girl when they see
their Caped role model being escorted to a police car in hand
cuffs, who were only trying to rescue them from a Justice
System depriving children of both parents, grandparents and
extended families?

Our Government and Justice System do not want to
acknowledge what went wrong for children like me. These
Caped Crusaders reassure me that not all is lost and that they
will always be here to support me.
Why do the police have to arrest these Superheroes when so
many other protests turn violent and many of these protesters
are never arrested?
Are they trying to show others who want to let the world know
about injustices that they too will go to jail? We, as Canadian
children do not have our voices heard in the legal system and
our Superheroes have to take drastic measures like flying to
the tops of high buildings, bridges and cranes to draw
attention to our rights.

Most of us have tried the traditional routes, like hiring
lawyers, going to Kangaroo court, or in my case, not being able
to go to court because my “Dad is too dangerous”. This has
gotten most of us nowhere.

So I ask you to please leave our superheroes alone and let
them be the heroes that children like me can continue to look
up to and hold on to.
Who can a child look up to then? If our childhood Heroes can’t
make a difference, who can?
Superheroes should be standing behind the children, not
behind iron bars.
