My introduction to Family Court came after 18 years of marriage and 2 beautiful children. My entire life was dedicated to my family,
not just providing the necessities of life, I was also involved in all aspects of my children's upbringing and activities from diapers to school
to sports and I was a good father. When I was served with divorce papers I had no idea of the downward spiral to hell that I was soon to
experience. During that time it was difficult to cope and comprehend the injustice and maltreatment I was being subjected to by the
entire process and those responsible for it. Like any good father I fought tooth and nail to maintain a meaningful relationship with my
children. At some point through this process I realized that this all came about by design, not accident and certainly not in the best intrests
of children. The inevitable end of the story is that I lost everything for the simple reason of wanting to be a father to my children.
Family court can best be described as a black hole where the truth never escapes.
During this dire time I discovered Fathers4Justice Canada and like many others I had nothing to loose and wondered what does a
father have to do to draw attention to his plight for a fundamental right to be a parent to his kin? The answer lies within all of us and that
is to be active and raise awareness at every opportunity however small. In a relatively short time Fathers4Justice has raised the issue of
equal parenting more effectively than any other fathers group today. The methods may be questionable to some but it works. F4J had
the structure and the format, all I had to do was make a stand. I must also confess that my actions have not been totally unselfish
as it makes feel very good to know that I am doing my part to make this a better world for all of us to live in.
