Today, December 9th/2008, the 10th anniversary "For The Sake Of The Children" report, Sask. F4J members and supporters met at the Regina Court Of Queens Bench to commemorate the day. Bondo proudly displayed our commemorative banner and a F4J scales of injustice for those not familiar with the "For The Sake Of The Children" report to get our message across. Tunes to enhance the ambiance, included "We Are The World", "My Father's Eyes" Eric Clapton, "Would You Like Fries With That" Tim McGraw, "So This Is Christmas" John Lennon, and "On Every Street" Dire Straights. The group gathered for some hot java, camaraderie and engaged in some wholesome Canadian winter sports activities such as sidewalk hockey and snow soccer. Good fun for all those that attended and good lunch time entertainment for the spectators that work at the Court Of Queens Bench and City Hall.
Our midday activities and presence soon attracted the Regina CBC news crew. An interview followed and happy to say I was home in time to see that we made the Sask CBC news at six!! http://www.cbc.ca/video/popup.html?http://www.cbc.ca/ondemand/newsatsix/regina.asx footage is above 14.5 minutes into the news cast.
Special thanks to everyone who came out and special thanks (long overdue) to Don W. for the best Coat of Arms ever.
