Fathers 4 Justice Canada - November 16/08 - Regina Saskatchewan - Santa Parade -
Tis The Season To FREE JOLLY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
November 16, 2008, Regina Saskatchewan
On Nov 16/08 F4J Sask members actively participated in the Regina 23rd annual Santa Parade. Our superheros arrived early to prepare our Sask
Barney mobile we affectionately call "Bondo" for its inaugural event. We received immediate attention when our superheroes emerged transformed
in their alter ego superhero costumes. Our superheros attracted everyone's attention well before the parade had even started. The parade began at
1PM and our superheros armed only with energy and enthusiasm and bags of candy canes, bravely entered the fray and frazzle of excited children.
Our hero's fell behind almost immediately as they desperately tried to reach all the children with x mas treats. We estimate several thousand candy
canes were dispensed within the hour.
This year we quadrupled our number of superheros, many thanks to Iron man (Mark W.), Batman (Kevin G.), The Hulk (Mike H.) and Spiderman
(Gene R). Our superheros, as expected, were a great hit with the kids. Special thanks also to our driver Scott S who safely shuttled our crew of
superheros and two ladies for our superhero candy reload support.
Here in the south we incorporated an idea well developed and tested in the north by Mark B. . We mounted a 3' x 6' sheet of plywood with the
message " Support Equal Parenting For the Sake of the Children".
Since few people would see my lawn sign in small town Sask, I decided to take my lawn sign to the good people of Regina and proudly displayed
our 2' x 4' "FREE JOLLY" on the front of Bondo for the Parade. It is my hope that he will get to see these pictures soon and know that he is not
alone in this struggle and I hope it will help keep his spirits up and "carry on" another day. Although we are half way around the world away we
appreciate his heroism and he is in our thoughts.
A great time had by all and I look forward to many more occasions when the Sask superheros can come together again.
